You won’t see dirty overalls, stained floors or oily rags when you come to our spotless and beautifully equipped auto workshop just off Park Road in downtown Faringdon. It’s no typical garage – rather an immaculate vehicle diagnostic and treatment centre, staffed with dedicated specialists, that we’re incredibly proud of – the realisation of an ambition long held by company owner Bob Hopgood.
Bob spent many years working in mainstream garages gaining experience and knowledge, always aiming to start his own business where he could offer good, honest and reliable services that were, quite literally, second to none, at a cost-effective price.
In April 2000 he took the plunge, establishing Second 2 None initially in the RAC Industrial Estate near Faringdon’s retail park. Seven years later he had outgrown these origins and moved to bigger premises at the current site, expanding his service offering. Not content with the building he took on, in 2016 Bob had it razed to the ground and replaced with the auto repairer’s dream workshop that is now truly Second 2 None.
Along with the expansion of the business and workshop, Bob has increased his staff over the years, taking care to hand pick only the best qualified technicians and mechanics, most of them specialising in various facets of car maintenance and repairs.
His company ethos is to offer motorists all the high standards of service and workmanship that you would expect to find at a flagship dealership, but at an affordable price.
Judging by the growing list of glowing reviews Second 2 None has earned from satisfied customers, Bob is certainly succeeding in his aim and we’re cementing the company’s reputation for excellence when it comes to car repairs in Faringdon.
